Tour Report
Well “Marti Pellow and Wet Wet Wet” come to mind!!!
18 members travelled to Spain looking forward to Golf. Sunshine and fun. Despite some unexpected challenges, we made it happen!!
The first day we attempted to play The Bertie Lawson Open and the game was abandoned due to torrential rain.
We trialled a rest day in between two further golf days and the sun shone. So what did some of us do, PLAY GOLF of course.
The 3rd day was trouble free and we enjoyed the 1st day of the FGS Tour Competition of 18 holes in the sun.
The 4th and final day had to be re-arranged from a morning T time to an afternoon T time due to, yes you guessed it, more rain. I fell ill with a virus and could only play 9 holes and recruited Paul Harling to present prizes.
Despite a few setbacks, I was pleased that after some fleet of foot we were able to finish both the Bertie Lawson Open and FGS Tour Competitions, even if we had to play both competitions on the last day over 18 holes. The best part is that we all had a blast enjoying the nearby restaurants and bars of an evening.
Congratulations to Helen Wickens who won both the Bertie Lawson Open and the overall Farmhouse Tour competitions.
Good luck Helen, on arranging 2025.
