SCORING CARDS

SCORING CARDS

At the Farmhouse Golf Society we rely on the generosity of a few members to score cards during events and to update the handicaps afterwards. With that in mind, we ask ALL members complete cards correctly, and sign them, before handing in for scoring.

A correctly completed card

Whilst specific course cards vary in layout, a correctly completed card has the following components:

  1. Players Name (usually next to "Player A")
  2. Players FGS Handicap
  3. Players Score (in the "Player A" column)
  4. Markers Score (in the "Marker's Score" column)
  5. Players Signature
  6. Markers Signature
  7. NO OTHER MARKINGS

Incorrectly completed cards

These are a few examples, but in essence, unless it follows the guidance above, it is likely to be incorrect:

(1) Not Signed
Ensure your card is checked and signed by both the player and the marker

(2) Scored
If you want to keep your own score, please obtain a separate card prior to teeing off.

(3) Markers Score in Player
Players score in "Player A", Markers score in "Marker's Score", that's it.

(4) Multiple Players
Each card should only have the marker and a single named player's score

(5) Where do we start?!

We have decided, and for the moment, that incorrectly completed or spoiled cards will not result in automatic disqualification as per standard club rules, we reserve the right to change that without notice.
